
Julio P.G. Bucoy

Atty. Julio P.G. Bucoy has the distinction of being both a lawyer and a Chartered Financial Analyst.
He started his legal career as an associate with one of the top corporate law firms in the country, the Picazo Buyco Tan Fider and Santos Law Office, where he gained extensive experience in practicing corporate and transactional law, labor, tax, and litigation. While at the firm he assisted and advised on several mergers and acquisition deals involving banks and other conglomerates.
He then joined the Strategic Business and Analytics team of the ATR Asset Management (ATRAM) Group. He was thereafter appointed as President of Cocolife Asset Management Company Inc. (CAMCI) and the Head of Corporate Finance and Strategy of United Coconut Planters Life Assurance Corporation (Cocolife) before going back to practicing law.
Atty. Bucoy is presently a member of the Board of Trustees of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Society of the Philippines and the corporate secretary of Fund Managers Association of the Philippines. He also teaches Securities Regulation at the Financial Executives Association of the Philippines (FINEX) Academy. He was previously a trustee of the Philippine Investment Funds Association of the Philippines (PIFA).
Atty. Bucoy obtained his Bachelor of Science in Accounting with a minor in Economics at Fordham University, New York, where he was a member of the international honor society of Beta Alpha Psi. He then earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Philippines College of Law and thereafter passed the Philippine Bar. Prior to entering and while in law school, he passed all three levels of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) exams and was thereafter awarded his CFA designation. Atty. Bucoy has had legal internships with the Angara Abello Concepcion & Regala & Cruz Law Offices (ACCRALAW), Office of the Solicitor General, and the UP College of Law – Office of Legal Aid where he was recognized for his distinguished performance
