
George Matthew T. Habacon
Special Counsel
George Matthew T. Habacon is a seasoned dispute resolution practitioner with experience in product liability, commercial and tax disputes, family law, and admiralty. He has extensive experience before regular and special courts and quasi-judicial bodies, at both the trial and appellate levels. He also assists clients with trademark, trade name, industrial design, utility model, and patent applications before the Intellectual Property Office.
He advises employers on Philippine labor laws and handles a wide range of employment-related matters. With a Postgraduate Certificate in Medicine and the Law from the University of London and membership in the World Association for Medical Law, he also maintains a strong interest in medical law.
Mr. Habacon is currently the Associate Dean of the Universidad de Manila College of Law, a lecturer in Conflicts of Law at the University of Asia and the Pacific, and the Chancellor of the Rizal Philippine Annual Conference East of the United Methodist Church. He is also the Provincial Legal Officer of the Province of Rizal and a former Assistant City Attorney of Quezon City.
Prior to joining the Firm, he practiced with Siguion Reyna Montecillo & Ongsiako, Sycip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan, and Nisce Mamuric Guinto Rivera & Alcantara, and contributed to the World Bank Group’s Doing Business Handbook (2014).
